Forty five years of being on the water in all types of boats with shapes and sizes defying the imagination has taught me one life lesson…. There are never any regrets and I am never sorry to cast off the dock lines and move away from the land into the water.
To be aboard a classic sailing yacht like ‘Gas Light’ is something you can experience first hand. Feeling the power and nobility of the water rushing by, the wooden masts creaking and the sea air in your lungs is priceless in today’s rushing society.
There is a veil that is lifted, a transformation that takes place, when one is surrounded by water. On a boat, whether it is on a small lake, or the vast ocean there is a metamorphosis you go through as a land based creature. The alteration is instant, complete and wholly energetic to your soul.
Perhaps it is simply the freedom one feels. The independence of being dis-connected from the land-based grid can be life-changing, if only for the time underway.
It matters not if the design and year of the boat is 5 years old, or 155 years, the liberation of a day on the water, power or sail gives us latitude in our daily lives. This translates to be back in control without being connected to anything except the deck of the boat under your feet!
